Daly City Seeks Entries for Centennial Logo Contest - Deadline Extended

The City of Daly City is seeking a high quality, distinctive logo to brand its centennial celebration. Daly City, incorporated on March 22, 1911, will be commemorating its centennial throughout 2011. A City Council appointed committee of volunteers is planning a variety of centennial events and activities, starting with the logo contest.

Daly City’s Centennial Logo Contest is open to artists of all ages. Entries will be judged by the Centennial Committee and presented to the City Council. The City Council will select the winner.

Artists are encouraged to submit creative entries that capture the essence of Daly City’s past, present, and future. The winning entry will be used to brand the year-long Daly City centennial celebration and will appear on lapel pins, stickers, T-shirts, and in a variety of publications.

Centennial Logo Contest Submission Criteria

● The competition is open to all designers, multiple submissions are allowed.

● The preferred format for logo entries is an electronic, high resolution (600 pixels/inch) scalable vector file, such as EPS, but all formats, including line drawings, will be accepted.  Black and white graphics are preferred.

● Submissions may be e-mailed with the words “Centennial Logo Contest” in the subject line to dalyinfo@dalycity.org, or sent via snail mail or in person to: City Manager’s Office, City Hall, 333 90th Street, Daly City, CA 94015.

● The deadline for entries is Friday, February 11, 2011.

● The design should be of a shape that would fit a typical round, square, or rectangular lapel pin and easily reproducible for T-shirts and printed materials.

● All art must be fully in the hand of the submitter; no third-party artwork or images, including clipart, or copyrighted graphics may be used.

● The City of Daly City will acquire ownership of the winning logo and may use the image as it deems appropriate.

● By entering the Centennial Logo Contest, submitter agrees with all criteria listed above.
