Daly City is OUT of masks that were being given away for free at City Hall. We are currently working on getting more and expect to have more in stock on Monday. Please check back here or our social media accounts for more information.

In the meantime, Kelly-Moore Paints is giving away free N95 masks at various stores in our area, while supplies last. Limit 5 per family. For a list of locations, click here.

ORIGINAL POST from November 9:

Due to poor air quality from the Camp Fire in Butte County, masks are now available at City Hall for residents that need protection (such as the elderly, children and those with respiratory issues). Please see the letter below from Mayor Juslyn Manalo.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has issued an air quality advisory for smoke for the Bay Area through Friday, Nov. 9th.

If the smell of smoke is present, it is important that Bay Area residents protect their health by avoiding exposure. If possible, stay inside with windows and doors closed until smoke levels subside. Set air conditioning units and car vent systems to re-circulate to prevent outside air from moving inside. Smoke can irritate the eyes and airways, causing coughing, a dry scratchy throat and irritated sinuses. Elevated particulate matter in the air can trigger wheezing in those who suffer from asthma, emphysema or COPD. Elderly persons, children and individuals with respiratory illnesses are particularly susceptible to elevated air pollution levels and should take extra precautions to avoid exposure.
