Paintings by Daly City Artist Alex Carwile to Be Featured at City Hall’s Octagon Gallery

A series of paintings by Daly City artist Alex Carwile will be exhibited at the Octagon Gallery on the Third Floor of City Hall, 333 90th Street, beginning Tuesday, July 11.  Members of the public are invited to an opening night reception hosted by friends of the artist.  The reception is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.  Carwile’s one-man show will continue through August.  Admission to the Octagon Gallery is free.

Carwile describes himself as a self-studied artist who has always loved the arts. He grew up surrounded by music, and learned to play drums, guitar, bass, and piano. His life changed forever when he started drawing to keep himself occupied.   Drawing led to painting, which became his therapy.   “The world stops when I paint. I have no fears; I don’t let my emotions get the best of me. I just go, I put everything into the blank canvas and when I am done I always find that it is something I never was expecting,” Carwile said.
